2026 NFL Draft: The Next Big Names in Football
USAMonday, April 28, 2025
The quarterback class is full of potential but also has some question marks. Fernando Mendoza, who transferred to Indiana from Cal, is leading the pack. He has quick reaction times and impressive processing skills, both inside and outside the pocket. Behind him, South Carolina's LaNorris Sellers is another talented QB. He is known for his maneuverability and ability to avoid sacks. However, he needs to improve his short-area accuracy. Other notable QBs include Cade Klubnik from Clemson, Garrett Nussmeier from LSU, and Drew Allar from Penn State. Nussmeier is intriguing due to his confidence throwing downfield, but his athletic potential is a concern. Allar has the size and arm strength, but his ball placement can be inconsistent.
The receiver class is interesting, with Washington's Denzel Boston leading the way. However, Notre Dame's Jaden Greathouse is making a strong case for being the second-best receiver in this class. He plays similarly to Emeka Egbuka, excelling in the slot with smooth route running and quickness. He also has a strong ability to gain yards after the catch. If he can show he can win on the outside as well, he could be a top pick.
The linebacker class is also shaping up to be exciting. Georgia's CJ Allen is a standout, known for his ability to navigate through traffic and his explosiveness downhill. Texas's Anthony Hill Jr. is another player to watch. He has a crazy second gear in space and is a blur coming downhill. Both players are versatile and could be major players in the 2026 draft.
