9 People Stabbed in Seattle: A 38-Hour Crime Spree

Seattle saw a crime spree this week, with nine people stabbed in just 38 hours. By Friday, a suspect was in custody, according to police. The first attack happened on Thursday morning, when a 52-year-old woman was stabbed eight times. Later, three men were stabbed, one multiple times. A fourth victim managed to escape with a hand cut. Friday morning, a person was found with severe neck wounds.

On Friday afternoon, five more people were attacked in the south part of the city. Police found a suspect nearby, who matched witness descriptions. A knife was also recovered. Four of the Friday victims were taken to hospitals, one still with a knife in them. The fifth was treated on the scene. Police believe the suspect is linked to all nine stabbings, though one case is still under investigation. Deputy Chief Eric Barden called it a "horrific tragedy. " He emphasized that these were random attacks, an unusual occurrence for the city. With the suspect caught, they expect things to return to normal.
