Albert Brooks, a renowned comedian and actor, is still coming to terms with the tragic loss of his longtime friend, Rob Reiner. The two first met in a drama class at Beverly Hills High School during their teenage years. Brooks recently shared his feelings of disbelief and shock over Reiner's passing in an upcoming CBS special.

A Shocking Loss

Reiner and his wife, Michele, were tragically found dead in their Los Angeles home on December 14th. Their son, Nick, is currently facing first-degree murder charges. Brooks admitted that there are moments when he forgets his friend is gone, even going as far as dialing Reiner's number a couple of days ago.

A Trip Down Memory Lane

In December 2023, Brooks and Reiner visited their old high school for an interview with "CBS Sunday Morning." It was their first time back since graduation. Reiner joked about the experience, saying, "It brings back no memories," to which Brooks agreed, "Nothing. Nothing." They also pointed out a bench they used to sit on, reminiscing about their time together.

Collaborations and Memories

Reiner directed a documentary about Brooks in 2023, titled "Albert Brooks: Defending My Life." Before that, the two had only worked together once, in the 1999 film "The Muse." Reiner hired Brooks for the role, and Brooks appreciated the opportunity.

Cherishing Memories

The loss of a friend can be difficult, especially when that friend has been a part of your life for so long. Brooks' words remind us of the importance of cherishing the time we have with our loved ones and the memories we create together.
