A Chef's New Life in Italy: A Quiet Escape
Rachael Ray, the renowned chef and TV personality, has traded the bustling streets of New York for the serene landscapes of Tuscany, Italy. In a recent conversation, she shared her reasons for embracing a quieter life abroad.
A Home for Bella
Ray's decision to move was significantly influenced by her dog, Bella. The canine companion disliked the noise and chaos of New York City. In contrast, Italy offers ample space for Bella to roam freely. The property features a large swimming pool, expansive land, and fresh air. Ray also enjoys tending to her gardens, vineyard, and olive trees, relishing the tranquility of her new environment.
An Unplanned Move
The move to Italy was not initially planned. Ray lost her New York home in a fire and subsequently purchased a property in Italy in 2021. The house was far from luxurious at first. Her husband, John Cusimano, humorously referred to it as a "war zone." However, Ray saw the potential and envisioned a place that was truly their own.
A Clear Preference
While Ray's husband still has a fondness for New York and visits frequently, Ray has made her choice clear. She prefers Italy and only returns to New York when work necessitates it. For her, Italy is not just a vacation spot but her permanent home. She has built a life there that she cherishes—a life of quiet, peace, and contentment, perfect for her and Bella.
