A Difficult Journey: Afghan Refugee Mothers in Pakistan
Balochistan, PakistanWednesday, June 25, 2025
The pandemic made things worse. Lockdowns and fear of the virus made it difficult for women to visit clinics. Many healthcare centers were also overwhelmed with COVID-19 patients. This left little room for other services, like antenatal and intrapartum care.
The situation is critical. Afghan refugee women in Balochistan need better access to healthcare. The province's government and international organizations must work together to improve the situation. This includes providing more resources and support to healthcare centers. It also means ensuring that refugee women are not left behind.
The challenges are many, but so are the opportunities. By addressing these issues, we can make a real difference in the lives of Afghan refugee women and their families.
