A Happy‑Pup’s New Chance
Budster is a unique blend of corgi and husky who arrived at Fulton County Animal Shelter in Rochester, Indiana after his owner had to give him up due to housing rules. He was not a problem dog; he came from a place that may have been abusive. The shelter’s staff noticed right away how special he was, noting that corgis are rare in their care.
People love designer mixes. A 2023 survey of 1,000 dog owners put goldendoodles among the top three favorites. On social media you can spot other mixes like husky‑chihuahua, Labrador‑border collie, and husky‑German shepherd. Budster fits that trend with his playful energy and bright eyes, which the shelter shared on TikTok.
The Challenge of a Loud Environment
The shelter environment is loud and stressful. Budster struggles there, often overwhelmed by noise and crowds. He doesn’t get to show his true friendly side in a kennel, so visitors may miss him. A 2014 study found that a visitor usually spends only about eight minutes with one dog, which is too short for a shy pup to shine.
A Hopeful Video
To give him more exposure, the shelter filmed his daily routine and posted it online. The video shows him wagging his tail, running around, and looking hopeful. They hope someone will see the clip and decide to adopt him.
What Budster Needs
Budster is good with other dogs, works well with kids, and can be gentle around cats. He just needs a calm home where he can relax and feel loved. The shelter’s goal is to match him with the right family who will give him a fresh start.
