A Love Story Set to Music: Jordan Kahn's Unique Wedding

Jordan Kahn, musician and co-owner of Jordan Kahn Music Company, envisioned his wedding to Stephanie Ritter as a musical journey. Instead of traditional vows, Kahn crafted a unique set of vows using lyrics from 18 different songs. The vows began with:

"We were both young when I first saw you. . ."

and ended with:

"This I promise you."

Dance Party Atmosphere

The wedding was planned by Aimee Monihan of Destination Occasions, aiming for a dance party atmosphere from start to finish. The reception began with a full dance floor, featuring a 20-piece orchestra playing Billy Joel’s "Uptown Girl." This song held special significance as it marked the beginning of their relationship in New York City.

Dinner and Dance Segments

Following the first dance to NSYNC’s "This I Promise You," the couple invited guests to join them on the dance floor. The evening was designed around dance segments, with guests moving between the dance floor and their tables for dinner courses. The menu was inspired by the couple’s family history and memories, including a dim sum cocktail hour and a unique matzo ball soup recipe.

Natural Decor

The decor, created by Gro Designs, celebrated the natural surroundings of Colorado. The chuppah resembled an Aspen orchard canopy, and guests entered the reception through a hallway lined with Aspen trees. Tables featured 20-foot-tall trees and floral arrangements showcasing autumn colors.

Surprise Serenade

During the reception, Kahn surprised Ritter with a serenade of Michael Buble’s "I Only Have Eyes for You," which transitioned into a lively dance version. The evening concluded with a "second line" led by 12 horn musicians, taking guests to the lobby bar for an after-party with celebrity DJ Greg Garman. As a final surprise, Kahn gifted Ritter a new family puppy while "Who let the dogs out" played.
