A Massive Fire at Denver's Harker Heights Construction Site
A huge fire broke out in a building that was still being built on Leetsdale Drive, close to Glendale. The flames were so big that they could be seen from far away, lighting up the night sky. The area was quickly evacuated, and the road was shut down to keep people safe.
Firefighters from Denver and other nearby cities rushed to the scene. They worked hard for hours to control the fire, which spread easily because the building didn't have walls or sprinklers to stop it. The fire was so intense that it reached the level of a five-alarm fire, with over 100 firefighters working to put it out.
The fire caused power outages for about 1,000 Xcel Energy customers in the area. A nearby restaurant, Sam's No. 3 Glendale, had to close early because of the power outage caused by the fire. Firefighters had to increase the water pressure to fight the flames effectively.
The cause of the fire is still unknown, and investigators are working to find out what happened. One firefighter was injured during the firefight and was taken to the hospital. The damage to the building is extensive, and firefighters are still working to put out all the flames and hotspots.
