A Political Argument Turns Violent: Teen Left Injured
On Super Bowl Sunday, a heated political debate in Wilmington, Illinois, took a dark turn when 47-year-old Tara Heine allegedly attacked a 15-year-old girl, leaving her with visible injuries.
A History of Legal Troubles
Heine has been in and out of Will County Jail since December, with this being her third arrest in just over a month. The latest charges include:
- Aggravated domestic battery
- Three counts of domestic battery
Despite the prosecutor's request to keep her detained, a judge allowed her release under electronic monitoring.
The Alleged Attack
According to court documents, the argument started over politics. Heine allegedly:
- Followed the girl into her room
- Slapped her
- Pinned her down
- Punched her
- Pulled her hair
- Bit her hands
- Choked her until she couldn't breathe
The most alarming part? Heine allegedly threatened to kill her during the attack.
Injuries and Contradictory Claims
The girl showed officers her injuries, including:
- Marks on her arms and hands
- A cut on her nose
- Swelling on her face
Heine, however, told a different story, claiming the girl grabbed her by the hair and that she became combative during her arrest.
A Pattern of Criminal Behavior
This isn't Heine's first run-in with the law. She has prior convictions for:
- Retail theft
- Driving with a suspended license
- Resisting a police officer
With her latest release, she's once again out of jail, but this time with an electronic monitor to ensure she stays out of trouble.
