A Star's Journey Through Loss and Love
Penn Badgley, known for his role in "You," recently shared a deeply personal story about his marriage and family life. He talked about the tough times he and his wife, Domino Kirke, faced after experiencing two miscarriages in a row. These losses were so hard that they almost decided to separate.
In his new book, "Crushmore," Badgley writes about the pain of losing a pregnancy. He remembers a particularly difficult time when he and his wife felt very alone. They struggled because society doesn't often talk about miscarriages or know how to support people going through them. Badgley describes a "dreadful memory" of seeing their baby in a black-and-white sonogram, which still affects him today.
Badgley and Kirke have since welcomed identical twin boys, adding to their family. They already have a 5-year-old son together and Kirke has a son from a previous relationship. Badgley jokes that he now feels like he's "drowning in children," which makes it harder to remember the pain of their past losses.
He also shared that raising twins is much harder than raising one child. He marvels at how much work it is but loves his new role as a dad. He even noticed that his twins are becoming more identical as they grow.
Badgley's story highlights the importance of talking about miscarriages and the impact they can have on families. It's a reminder that even celebrities face real struggles and that support and open conversations can make a big difference.
