A Dark Tale of Deception and Greed

A New Jersey tech executive, Paul Caneiro, stands accused of a shocking quadruple murder. The victims? His own brother, sister-in-law, and their two children. But the story doesn't end there—it takes a twisted turn involving a secret lover and a financial cover-up.

The Lavish Lifestyle

Paul Caneiro, a 59-year-old father of three, was living a life of luxury. He owned three Porsches and frequently traveled to Colombia, Las Vegas, and New York with his secret friend, Yisel Restrepo. He even bought her a luxury Audi.

The catch? He was supposedly struggling financially.

The Motive: Cold, Hard Cash

Prosecutors allege that Caneiro killed his brother, Keith, after Keith discovered he had stolen $78,000 from their shared businesses. The two brothers, along with a third, Corey, ran companies that were failing.

Caneiro was living beyond his means, and the theft was just another financial strain. But instead of coming clean, prosecutors say he concocted a deadly plan.

If Keith and his family died, Caneiro and Corey would split Keith’s $3 million life insurance policy.

A Brutal Night of Murder

The night of the killings, Caneiro went to Keith’s mansion, cut the power, and ambushed his brother when he went to investigate. He shot Keith in the head multiple times.

Then, he went inside and killed the rest of the family.

To cover his tracks, he set a slow-burning fire at Keith’s mansion and even started a blaze at his own home to make it seem like he was also a target.

The Discovery

A neighbor, Boris Volshteyn, discovered Keith’s body outside the burning home. He called 911, screaming:

"Oh my God. There is blood here. It's a corpse. Somebody is dead here."

The Aftermath

Caneiro has pleaded not guilty and has been behind bars since his arrest. The trial continues.
