Saturday, October 5, 2024
Now, you might be thinking, "What's going to happen to him?" According to a deal he struck with prosecutors, Gumucio could face up to five years in prison. The judge, John P. Cronan, is set to decide his fate on January 16. Two other people involved in this case are still waiting for their trials to start.
It's not just about the taxes though – Gumucio has a colorful past. He was arrested 15 times before and even used different names and Social Security numbers. Despite all that, he managed to build an international yoga business with studios in various U.S. cities and even abroad in Spain and Israel.
As for the money he owes, Gumucio has agreed to pay back $2.56 million plus interest. That’s a big chunk of change! But is it enough to make up for what he did? That’s something you might want to think about. After all, everyone pays taxes – even yoga teachers!
