Allen Media Group (AMG) has decided to close down The Weather Channel en Español by the end of this year. This move is a part of the company's ongoing cost-cutting measures. Last month, AMG announced that Pattrn, a climate-themed FAST channel, would stop programming next month and retake its roots on social media, keeping a weekend presence on The Weather Channel. In October, AMG underwent significant layoffs, affecting key members of its weather, news, and sports teams. Earlier this spring, the company also had layoffs, which are part of a broader trend of media companies reducing their workforce due to declining viewership of traditional television.

AMG owns a substantial number of broadcast television stations and platforms like TheGrio and a motion picture division. The decision to close the Spanish-language weather channel comes as the company looks to strategically position itself for future growth.
