Hackers Hijack Main Domains

Aerodrome Finance, a prominent decentralized exchange, recently encountered a front-end attack where hackers took control of its main website domains. Users were redirected to fake sites designed to steal their cryptocurrency by tricking them into signing harmful transactions.

Smart Contracts Remain Secure

The actual smart contracts managing user funds were not compromised. However, the team is still investigating potential financial losses and advises users to avoid the main domains:

  • aerodrome.finance
  • aerodrome.box

Instead, they recommend using decentralized alternatives.

Previous Incidents and Market Impact

This is not the first time Aerodrome has faced such attacks. Earlier in 2023, similar incidents resulted in losses of around $300,000. Despite this, the AERO token's price has remained stable, even showing a slight increase.

Team Response and User Advisory

The team is actively working to resolve the issue and has contacted the domain provider, My.box, for assistance. They strongly urge users to:

  • Revoke recent token approvals
  • Exercise extreme caution with transactions from unverified sources
