Amazon's Echo Show 15 (2nd Gen): A Smart Home Hub with a Twist
Amazon Headquarters, Seattle, USASaturday, January 4, 2025
But it's not all sunshine and rainbows. The Echo Show 15 (2nd Gen) is quite pricey, retailing at $300. And while it's primarily designed for wall mounting, the stand costs an extra $100. Ouch! Also, the audio quality isn't the best. The speakers are okay for casual listening, but they lack depth, and the sound can get muddled at higher volumes.
And while it's a smart home hub, the interface for controlling devices could be better. There's no centralized smart home dashboard, which would have made managing devices much easier. Instead, you have to navigate through menus or use voice commands, which can get a bit tedious.
So, should you buy it? If you're looking for a sleek, multifunctional device that can serve as both an entertainment hub and a smart home controller, then the Echo Show 15 (2nd Gen) is worth considering. But if you're on a budget or you're primarily interested in smart home management, you might want to look elsewhere.
