Amyloid and Tau: A Remarkable Reversal in Brain Health

Simon Nicholls, a participant in an Alzheimer's intervention study, has seen remarkable improvements in his brain health. After initially testing positive for amyloid and tau proteins, subsequent blood tests showed negative results, indicating a significant reduction in these markers associated with Alzheimer’s disease. The March blood tests further revealed an exceptionally low APS2 score of 25, suggesting normal brain amyloid levels. Additionally, brain volume scans showed growth in Nicholls' hippocampus, a region critical for memory that typically shrinks in Alzheimer’s patients. While these results are promising, Isaacson remains cautious, emphasizing the need for more data to confirm the long-term effects of the intervention.
