Apple Snaps Up Pixelmator: What's Next for the Photo-Editing App?
Vilnius, LithuaniaFriday, November 1, 2024
The deal hasn't been finalized yet, though. It still needs regulatory approval. This comes at a time when Apple is getting more serious about AI in its imaging apps. They recently added a feature called Clean Up, which removes stuff from photos. It's like Apple's answer to Google's Magic Eraser.
Apple hasn't said much about the acquisition. But it's clear that Pixelmator's features could soon be part of Apple's Photos app. As for Android users, don't hold your breath. Pixelmator is not currently available on Android, and that's unlikely to change anytime soon.
