“Each episode can almost stand alone as its own movie,” says executive producer Lauren Neustadter.
“We had a lot of fun building on the core idea while letting the team add new twists.”

Stapley’s confidence in the production guided the adaptation. Neustadter notes that the author trusted the creators to stay true to her vision while exploring fresh angles.

“We used the character as a compass, but we also had room to invent,” she adds.
