Apple's New iMac: Faster Chip, Better Cam, and USB-C
Cupertino, USAMonday, October 28, 2024
On the back, the iMac has four faster Thunderbolt 4 ports for quick data transfer. Apple has also updated its keyboard, mouse, and trackpad accessories to use USB-C, ditching the old Lightning connector. This is a big deal because USB-C is more common and generally works better.
The base model comes with an 8-core CPU, an 8-core GPU, and 16GB of memory. But you can upgrade it to have 32GB of memory, up to 2TB of storage, and even a nano-texture display to reduce glare. There's also a more expensive option starting at $1, 499 that comes with a 10-core CPU and GPU.
The new iMacs will start shipping on November 8th in a variety of colors like green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, blue, and the classic silver.
