Apple's Next iPad Pro: What's New and What's Not?

Apple is gearing up to launch new iPad Pro models with OLED screens and the latest M5 chip. This time, both Samsung Display and LG Display are making the screens, sharing the workload for both 11-inch and 13-inch sizes. This shift likely aims to make Apple's supply chain more flexible and push OLED technology further into its products. Last year's iPad Pro models were a big deal with their first OLED displays. Samsung made the 11-inch panels, while LG handled the 13-inch ones. Now, both companies are teaming up to make screens for both sizes, possibly to meet higher demand or to reduce reliance on a single supplier. Apple might also be planning to use OLED screens in the iPad mini by 2026 and the iPad Air by 2027.

The new iPad Pro models might not have many big changes. The main upgrade seems to be the M5 chip, which is expected to be more powerful and efficient thanks to TSMC's advanced 3-nanometer process technology. There's also a rumor that the Apple logo on the back might change to a landscape orientation, so it looks upright when the iPad is in landscape mode, like when using a keyboard. Last year's iPad Pro models got a thinner and lighter design, support for the Apple Pencil Pro, and more. This year, the updates seem to be more about small improvements rather than big changes. The new models are expected to launch around October, following the pattern of last year's May release for the M4 iPad Pro models.
