Fluorescent particles were also linked to higher INP counts at warmer temperatures, hinting that biogenic aerosols, like those from plants or algae, might be important sources in the Arctic. High winds from the ocean and higher concentrations of organic particles were also connected to increased INP numbers. The study showed that these particles have diverse origins and change a lot, even in the remote Arctic.
