You might not find the idea of people so rapt up in a tunnel escape fascinating but for the 110 people released another 23 were whisked of to Egypt they were apparently serving hard time for big time crime
Sweeping most of the prisoners with their newly found freedom they leaped of the shoulders of their jubilant supports after stepping off the Red cross bus, but the other 23 prisoners faced a different reality as they were shipped of to Egypt before being shipped off somewhere else. Imagine if you were freed from prison and you had to go into exile in this strange foreign country that is in a warzone with your homeland, home of the people you lost with loved ones. For a lot of people if that was their fate the feelings of relief and joy would be quickly replaced with a new anxiety and sense of dread and unease. They represent a quarter of the people released. The ones that stayed in the Westbank represented the other three quarters of the released. Families and other loved ones were so happy that they started to display it with extreme joy and jubilation. Zubeidi and some of his fellow prisoners were transferred to Egypt instead of sitting in a WestBank prison.
But within the three 15 boys to 69 year old men some stayed and some went into exile and were separated from their families and loved ones . So overall it is a complicated situation and like most things human they will have to make the best of it . In Ramallah Authority said to anyone who would talk to them.
If you listen to the prisoners and loved ones they might say the conditions were not always great. doctors said that the men lost weight and looked weak, one of them Dr. Mai Al-Kaileh had no trouble at all in saying this. Even though this makes us wonder what these 23 other prisoners must have went through in the coming years.
