Astronaut Captures Ghostly Pic of SpaceX Dragon from Space Station
International Space StationThursday, October 31, 2024
Pettit, who has spent 370 days in orbit, didn't fly on the Dragon. Instead, he used a Russian Soyuz spacecraft. He's a photography enthusiast and has been practicing his skills since his last mission in 2012-13. This time, he used a Nikon Z9 camera with a fisheye lens to snap the picture.
The photo was taken at a quarter of a second exposure, with settings of f2. 8 and ISO 3200. Pettit adjusted the contrast, brightness, and color to get the final effect. He shared the image on X (formerly Twitter) on Oct. 24, commenting on how the sun shines through the stitching, adding a unique touch to the composition.
