Astronaut's Night Shot Captures Earth's Beauty from Space

NASA astronaut, Matthew Dominick, is gearing up to return home after his seven-month stay on the International Space Station (ISS). But before he left, he managed to snap an amazing nighttime photo. Using a 50mm lens on his camera, he successfully captured a view of the Nile River, Nile Delta, and Cairo, all illuminated by moonlight. Dominick shared the image on X (formerly Twitter) with a heartfelt caption. He mentioned that he was up late preparing for his journey back to Earth. He said that seeing Cairo at night is one of his favorite sights, and he was glad he got one last look.

The photograph was taken from around 250 miles above our planet. It's worth noting that Dominick's first space mission has produced many stunning images. Now, he and three other astronauts are making final preparations for their trip back to Earth. The mission team has been dealing with some delays due to bad weather in the splashdown zone near Florida. NASA recently reported that the weather is starting to improve, and they're aiming for an undocking no earlier than Monday, October 21, with a potential splashdown the next day.
