Author Neil Gaiman has strongly denied allegations of sexual assault and abuse made by several women. These claims were reported in a recent article by New York Magazine. Gaiman posted a statement on his website, clearly stating, "I have never engaged in non-consensual sexual activity with anyone. " This denial comes after the magazine's cover story, which included accounts from eight women, four of whom had previously shared their experiences on the podcast series "Master: The Allegations Against Neil Gaiman. " The magazine reviewed texts and emails between the women and their friends, as well as messages between Gaiman and the women. The article describes alleged abusive behavior, including forcing women to perform degrading acts and making sexual advances in front of his young son. One of the accusers, Scarlett Pavlovich, a former nanny, worked for Gaiman and his then-wife Amanda Palmer in New Zealand in 2022. Pavlovich claims that Gaiman attacked her multiple times, including an incident where she alleges he made her perform oral sex while his penis was covered in urine. She also claims he pushed his penis into her mouth, causing her to vomit, and then told her to lick the vomit off his lap. Pavlovich alleges that Gaiman had sex with her while his son was nearby, playing on an iPad. She filed a police report in New Zealand in January 2023, but the case was closed by authorities. Gaiman's legal representatives have denied these allegations, calling them "false and deplorable. " In his statement, Gaiman said, "I went back to read the messages I exchanged with the women around the times of the alleged incidents. These messages show two people enjoying entirely consensual sexual relationships. " He also asserted that some of the stories being told are false, while others have been distorted. Another woman, Kendra Stout, who met Gaiman when she was 18 in 2003, alleged that he discussed a dominant and submissive relationship with her. Stout claims that they did not establish safe words or limits, and that Gaiman penetrated her with his finger and penis while she had a painful UTI, despite her telling him "No. " Stout filed a police report against him last October. In the wake of these allegations, several movie and television projects based on Gaiman's books have been halted, including "The Graveyard Book" at Disney.
