Baltimore Sticks to Victory in Long, Tense Game

Baltimore, Maryland, USA,Sunday, July 19, 2026
The Orioles kept their winning streak alive with a 4‑2 win over the Astros after a marathon 11‑inning showdown. In the top of the 11th, Tyler O’Neill lined a single to infield. The ball hit Jose Altuve’s throw to first, but it was a misplay that let Gunnar Henderson sprint from second base and score the decisive run.
After Henderson’s dash, runners were on first and second. Leody Taveras then delivered a single that brought in another run, putting the Orioles ahead for good. The Astros had fought back earlier: Yordan Alvarez hit a double in the bottom of the 10th to tie the game, and they even loaded the bases with no outs. Yet they couldn’t convert those chances into a win. This victory marks Baltimore’s sixth straight triumph, the longest streak for the team since early June last year.
