How It Works
- A thief rents or steals a car and waits outside a bank.
- They watch for someone carrying a bank bag or a lot of cash.
- Once the person leaves, the thief follows them.
- When the person stops somewhere else, the thief either robs them or breaks into their car to steal the money.
Recent Incident in Woodbury, New Jersey
- A man from Houston, Texas, named Reginald Chatman Jr., followed someone who had just taken money out of the bank.
- He broke into their car and stole the cash.
- Chatman is now in jail in Oklahoma City for a similar crime and will be sent to New Jersey to face charges.
Police Warnings
- Be careful when leaving banks or fancy stores.
- Don't use your phone at the bank.
- Hide your bank bags and envelopes.
