Belarus Shoots Down Russian Drone in Surprising Move
BelarusTuesday, October 22, 2024
Belarus has been friendly with Russia throughout the war, allowing Russian troops to conduct exercises on their territory. However, they haven't directly joined the conflict. The drone shot down this weekend was part of Russia's strategy to target Ukrainian civilian and energy infrastructure using Iranian-made drones.
Meanwhile, Russia reported that its forces had shot down 110 Ukrainian drones over their territory, with many targeted near the border region of Kursk. Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy shared that Russia had launched a significant number of aerial attacks over the past week, calling it "deliberate terror" against their people. He urged allies to continue providing air support.
