Ben Stiller and Benson Boone: A Funny Super Bowl Ad for Instacart
Ben Stiller and Benson Boone are joining forces for an eccentric Super Bowl commercial. The duo portrays brothers with strong accents, dressed as a 1970s singing duo. The ad is directed by the acclaimed Spike Jonze.
Instacart's Super Bowl Strategy
This marks Instacart's second consecutive year advertising during the Super Bowl. Last year, their approach was different, featuring nine well-known mascots. This year, they opt for a more classic style with famous actors and a dash of humor.
Clips Released
Two short clips, "Harmonizing" and "Goals", were released on January 22nd. In these clips, Stiller criticizes Boone's singing and scolds him for discussing the wrong kind of football. They are dressed in shiny, matching outfits resembling the green Instacart bags.
Other Delivery Services
Instacart isn't the only delivery service advertising during the Super Bowl. Uber Eats and Grubhub are also running ads. DoorDash, the largest delivery service in the U.S., is taking a break this year after three years of Super Bowl ads and a significant tech buy last year.
Airing Schedule
Both clips will air on TV before the Super Bowl. "Goals" will be shown during the NFC Championship Game on Fox on January 25th. "Harmonizing" will air during the Super Bowl pregame show on NBC.
