Bezos' Beverly Hills Property Gets a Space-age Makeover
A Mansion Like No Other
Jeff Bezos, the billionaire behind Amazon, has completed his dream home in Beverly Hills. This isn't just any house; it's a mansion with some seriously cool and weird features. One of the most eye-catching additions is a shiny, UFO-like structure near the cactus garden. It looks like something straight out of a sci-fi movie!
A Record-Breaking Purchase
The mansion has been under construction since Bezos bought it in 2020 for a whopping $165 million, plus an extra $10 million for the lot. This deal is one of the most expensive real estate transactions in Los Angeles history.
The UFO-like Building
The UFO-like building is speculated to be a sauna, designed to look like NASA's Apollo 11 space capsule. It's a luxurious pod that could serve as a private lounge, workspace, or even a dining area. The price of such a unique piece is likely sky-high.
A Taste for the Extraordinary
Bezos and his partner, Lauren Sanchez, have a taste for the extraordinary. In April, they celebrated their upcoming wedding with a space-themed bachelorette party. Sanchez even went on an 11-minute spaceflight aboard a Blue Origin rocket, accompanied by friends like Gayle King and Katy Perry. After the space adventure, Bezos married Sanchez in Venice, Italy, and installed the tallest fence in Beverly Hills. Now, they have this fantastic mansion to call home.
The 10-Acre Property
The 10-acre property features a Georgian-style, three-story main house designed by American architect Roland Coate. The house has a rich history, with its first inhabitant being Jack Warner, co-founder of Warner Brothers, in the 1930s.
Near the main house, there's a large pool with a stone pathway, decorated with vibrant images of aquatic creatures, giving it a Miami vibe. A massive viewing deck with a banquet table overlooks three huge pickleball courts. Visitors can also enjoy the gardens, a firepit, and a beach volleyball court.
