Bike Riders Plan Big Downtown LA Meet‑Up

Los Angeles, California, USA,Saturday, July 25, 2026

A group of cyclists from Southern California is preparing a large gathering near the Crypto.com Arena on Saturday. The organizers, who used an Instagram post from their brand “The Cruizers,” urged anyone with a bike or scooter to join them for what they called a “legendary” ride. The invitation was posted on July 25, the same day the Young Life Tour is scheduled to arrive in the area.

The call for participants points to a spot close to the Los Angeles Convention Center and Peacock Theater. In another social‑media post, footage from a previous event showed riders blocking a freeway on James M. Wood Boulevard. The video, posted on X, suggested that the group had caused a traffic jam by riding directly onto the road and demanding cars to stop.

Earlier this year, a similar gathering in downtown LA turned chaotic, damaging several luxury apartments and prompting a police response. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, nearly 700 street takeovers were reported last year, with about 1,700 traffic stops and 300 arrests. Chief Jim McDonnell said the trend is continuing this year.

The current event appears to be unapproved by city officials, so it remains unclear how the police will handle the situation. The organizers’ message is provocative and encourages “player” or “funky” riders to show up, but the potential for disorder remains a serious concern.
