It also doesn't help that Bukele's big plan to build a futuristic Bitcoin City, funded by cryptocurrency bonds, has yet to materialize. This hasn't stopped the crypto enthusiasts in Berlin. They still believe that Bitcoin can help achieve economic independence.
"The Bitcoin community center" is a place where people can learn about Bitcoin. Linares, who is 32, left the capital and moved here to teach about Bitcoin. The town is now a hub for Bitcoin enthusiasts from all over the world. Foreigners from France, the US, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, and Ireland have made their way here. These foreigners spend and earn in Bitcoin. This shows how much they believe in the currency.
Not everyone agrees with the Bitcoin hype. Some people think it's too risky and unstable. But for many in Berlin, Bitcoin is more than just a trend. It's a way to achieve economic independence and a better future. Even if the rest of the country isn't convinced, the people of Berlin are determined to make their Bitcoin dreams a reality.
