Blue Origin's New Glenn Rocket: Another Launch Try on Thursday
Cape Canaveral, USATuesday, January 14, 2025
The first attempt was scrubbed because of ice forming on a vent line that supplies power to the rocket's hydraulic systems. Despite this setback, the company was confident enough to set a new launch time for early Tuesday. Yet, the quick turnaround faced challenges like restocking liquid oxygen, methane, and other essentials needed for the large booster.
The delay might have been influenced by both technical work needed after the initial scrub and worries about early Tuesday's weather conditions. Blue Origin's brief update on Monday confirmed that the reason for the first delay was indeed ice buildup, as earlier reported by Ars.
