Bolivia's Chaco Region Takes Steps to Tackle Chronic Illnesses

In the heart of Bolivia's Chaco region, a significant effort is underway to enhance care for long-term health issues. This initiative spans 15 health centers across Camiri and the Guaraní Kereimba Iyaambae Indigenous Autonomous Government (GAIGKI). The primary objective is to evaluate the effectiveness of treatments for conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, cancer, and mental health problems.

Assessment and Findings

The team utilized a specialized tool to assess 50 different factors, including:

• Availability of supplies

The evaluation took place from February to May 2024 as part of a broader strategy to ensure quality care in these regions.
