In the heart of Boston's Seaport District, a new outdoor sports complex is making waves. Ballers Boston, which opened its doors on December 3, 2025, is not just about sports; it's about creating a community. This seasonal complex offers a variety of activities throughout the year, with winter bringing a skating rink and cozy igloos for guests to enjoy.

Winter Activation

The complex is currently hosting a winter activation, where visitors can reserve an igloo for $100. Inside, they can enjoy music, food, and beverages like s'mores, grilled cheese, tomato soup, and hot chocolate. But the real draw is the sense of community that Ballers Boston aims to foster.

Upcoming Activities

By April, the ice skating rink will make way for pickleball and padel courts, which have already piqued the interest of many. The complex's club manager, Leonardo Justus, expressed excitement about introducing new sports to Boston, especially during the winter months. He emphasized the unique experience Ballers Boston offers, encouraging people to step out of their comfort zones and enjoy the outdoors.

A Unique Concept

Ballers Boston stands out from its competitors by focusing on bringing people together through sports. The complex is more than just a place to play; it's a wellness center for those who want to be outdoors. The founders, David Gutstadt and Amanda Potter, were inspired by tennis legends like John McEnroe, Björn Borg, and Andre Agassi. They aimed to bring country club sports to city dwellers, adding a modern twist to the traditional club experience.

Pricing and Reservations

The complex is open to the public and follows a pay-to-play model. Visitors can pay $25 an hour during peak times and $15 an hour during off-peak times to play pickleball. Equipment rental is also available, with prices varying. Courts can be reserved via the Ballers app, which also shows upcoming clinics and fitness classes. Membership options are in the works and will be comparable to the second tier of Philadelphia's memberships.

Location and Hours

Ballers Boston is located at 25 Pier 4 Blvd. and is open from:

  • Noon to 10 p.m. Monday through Wednesday
  • 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday through Sunday

Hours will be adjusted for the spring, summer, and fall, and the complex will close during wet weather.
