A Winter Whisper, Not a Roar

Boulder County is in for a gentle snowfall, but don't expect a winter wonderland just yet. The National Weather Service predicts a modest one to four inches of snow from Thursday into Friday morning. Longmont, however, might barely notice the change, with less than half an inch expected.

Chilly but Not Extreme Temperatures

  • Boulder: High of 36 degrees on Thursday
  • Longmont: Slightly warmer at 39 degrees

Earlier fears of a heavy snow dump have faded, which is good news for those who dread shoveling.

Snowfall in Two Waves

  1. First Wave: One to two inches during the day on Thursday
  2. Second Wave: Another one to two inches overnight into Friday

By 11 a.m. Friday, the snow should have stopped. Roads will be wet throughout Thursday, but the worst conditions are likely to hit Friday morning commuters.

Warmer Weather on the Horizon

By Monday, temperatures in both Boulder and Longmont are expected to climb back into the fifties. So, while it might be cold now, it won't last forever.

A Light Dusting, Not a Major Event

This snowfall is a reminder that winter is still here, but it's not going to be a major event. It's a light dusting, a winter whisper rather than a roar. So, bundle up, but don't break out the heavy-duty snow gear just yet.
