A cold front has finally moved through the Capital Area, wrapping up the severe weather and washing away the rain. While the rain is gone, the real story is the icy blast that's following. Tonight, temperatures will drop like a rock, possibly dipping below freezing in Baton Rouge and even lower in the outskirts. Winds will still be strong, making it feel even colder. So, a Cold Weather Advisory is in effect from midnight to 9 a. m. on Monday. Keep your pets indoors, bundle up if you're out early, and protect your plants.
Monday will be sunny but freezing, with highs only in the mid-40s. The wind will make it feel even colder. Be ready for a chilly week ahead, with more freezing nights possible by midweek. There's even a hint of frozen precipitation in the forecast by next weekend, but it's too early to say for sure. So, stay tuned and stay warm!
