Low 40s in Oakland and San Jose, and even lower in inland areas. Don't plan on any outdoor activities, as highs won't reach above the mid-50s. Frost and freeze warnings are in place for North Bay interior valleys, San Benito County, and the Cholame Hills. Temperatures could dip as low as 28 degrees, so protect your pipes, plants, pets, and yourself.

The cold spell follows a cold front that swept through on Friday, ending the rain for now. But don't miss the "supermoon" on Friday and the meteor shower starting Sunday night. The meteors will zoom by at 44 miles per second, painting the sky with colorful streaks. Rain is expected to return on Sunday, but it won't be much. After that, the weather should start to warm up again.
