Get ready, Los Angeles! The National Weather Service has issued a serious warning about strong Santa Ana winds heading your way. Starting Monday at noon, these winds could cause trouble until Tuesday morning. They'll start in the mountains and spread to the valleys and coast by evening. Expect gusts up to 80 mph in the mountains and 65 mph in the valleys.
The low humidity makes things worse. It's like adding fuel to the fire, literally. The fire risk is high, and any new fires could spread fast. The worst days are Monday and Tuesday, but gusty winds will stick around until Friday.
Caltrans is already closing roads like Topanga Canyon Boulevard to keep people safe. Governor Gavin Newsom has sent extra help, like fire engines and aircraft, to be ready. Even cities like Pasadena are putting parking restrictions in place.
So, what can you do? Stay alert and get your home ready. These winds are no joke!
