But the findings also showed that sexual violence is not just a myth. About 13% of the students had experienced child sexual abuse. Around 16% had faced sexual harassment, and 10% had been sexually assaulted. The study also found that if someone had experienced violence as a child, they were more likely to experience it again as an adult.
This study highlights the need for everyone to work together to prevent sexual violence. It's not just a problem for one group or one sector to solve. Everyone has a role to play in making sure that all people, regardless of gender, are safe and respected.
