British Quarry Reveals Dinosaur Footprints

Imagine the surprise of quarry workers in Oxfordshire, England, when they stumbled upon footprints of a giant predator and other dinosaurs last summer. This discovery, unveiled to the public recently, is one of the most exciting finds in Britain in almost three decades. Paleontologists are thrilled with the trail of five distinct prints, which include both plant-eaters and meat-eaters that wandered the area during the Middle Jurassic period, about 166 million years ago.

Back then, Oxfordshire was not the grassy landscape it is today. Instead, it was a humid place filled with lagoons and muddy swamps, perfect for capturing dinosaur footprints. Since its initial excavation in 1997, the site has been nicknamed the "dinosaur highway" by scientists. This is because they have already found over 40 sets of footprints across almost 200 yards.
