Broncos' Javonte Williams Shines, Saints Struggle with Injuries
Denver, USAFriday, October 18, 2024
The Saints were also missing their top two wide receivers. Rashid Shaheed is out for the season after surgery, and Chris Olave is recovering from a concussion. This left the team relying on rookies to fill in. Fifth-round pick Bub Means and undrafted rookie Mason Tipton stepped up, along with veteran Cedrick Wilson Jr., who caught six passes for 57 yards and a touchdown.
Kendre Miller made his debut for the Saints after recovering from a hamstring strain. He played a few snaps and showed promise, leading the team in rushing with 36 yards on six carries.
For the Broncos, rookie Troy Franklin had a good game. He set a career-high in receiving yards, catching five passes for 50 yards. Franklin has been getting more playing time since Josh Reynolds went on injured reserve.
Other notable mentions include Saints tight end Taysom Hill missing his third game due to a rib injury, and Broncos tight end Greg Dulcich being inactive for the third week in a row.
