Brooklyn's Clowney Tests New Strength Against Sixers

Noah Clowney, the young forward for the Brooklyn Nets, faced a tough challenge in a recent preseason game against the Philadelphia 76ers. He went up against big guys like Andre Drummond and Guerschon Yabusele, who are known for their size and strength. Clowney has been working on his physique, adding about 10 pounds over the summer to reach around 230 pounds. His teammate, Dorian Finney-Smith, noticed the change, saying, "He came in last year skinny, small. He realized he had to get a lot stronger."

Playing out of position at center, Clowney had to deal with players much bigger and more experienced than him. Drummond, who is one of the best rebounders in NBA history, showed his strength early in the game by bullying Clowney under the basket. Despite some rough moments, Clowney ended the game with 11 points, eight rebounds, two assists, and two blocks. He also made his first 3-pointer of the preseason. Clowney's coach, Jordi Fernandez, wasn't entirely happy with his performance. He thought Clowney could have fought harder. But Clowney took it as a learning experience. "You're either gonna get better and learn from it or you're gonna go the other way," he said.
