ByteDance Fired Intern for Messing with AI
Beijing, ChinaTuesday, October 22, 2024
Now, TikTok's algorithms are partly powered by AI, and ByteDance runs China's most popular AI chatbot, Doubao. But ByteDance says reports about losing big bucks due to the intern's actions are overblown. They say no major projects or online operations were harmed.
TikTok remains super popular worldwide. In the U. S. , the government tried to ban the app, but ByteDance is fighting back in court. Former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris have both softened their stances on the ban. Trump now thinks banning TikTok would help Facebook, and Harris wants to change who owns TikTok instead.
