California to Boost Emissions Cuts, but Gas Prices Might Rise
California, Sacramento, USASunday, November 10, 2024
Experts estimate that gas prices could go up by as much as 85 cents per gallon by 2030. But, the California Air Resources Board says the program will eventually lower the cost of sustainable fuels. The LCFS was first started in 2009 and is part of California’s plan to be carbon neutral by 2045. The state has been pushing to phase out fossil-fuel vehicles. However, some critics wonder if the benefits of the LCFS will outweigh the costs.
