They're watching economic data closely. The ECB also decided to stop reinvesting money from certain asset purchases,like the pandemic emergency purchase programme (PEPP). This will decrease the PEPP portfolio by €7.5 billion per month. Their goal? To ensure inflation goes back to their target of 2% over the medium term. The ECB president will discuss these choices at a press conference today.
