The idea is simple: tell people what's good for the environment, and they'll do it. But does it really work? In a study, researchers tested this idea. They wanted to see if giving people the right information could get them to pay for a better way to manage all that plastic waste from farms. They used something called the Theory of Planned Behavior to figure out what kind of information would help. Here's what they found: when people learned about what others were doing (normative beliefs) and how they could make a difference (control beliefs), they were willing to pay more. In fact, they were willing to pay an extra CNY 307. 2 and CNY 400. 5, respectively.
