Canada and India Kick Out Diplomats: What's the Story?

Things between Canada and India are pretty tense. Both countries have kicked out each other's top diplomats. This is all about the killing of a Sikh activist named Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada last year. Canada thinks India might be involved, but India says no way. This isn't the first time they've argued about this. Canada had already kicked out an Indian diplomat, and India did the same. Now, Canada says India's top diplomat is a person of interest in the case. They've found evidence of Indian agents doing bad stuff in Canada. India denies all this and says Canada is just trying to make India look bad.

Nijjar was a leader in a movement for a separate Sikh homeland, which is banned in India. India had labeled him a terrorist. Canada has a lot of Sikhs, and some of them are even in parliament. This isn't the first time India has accused Canada of letting Sikh separatists do whatever they want. But despite all this, they still have strong ties in defense and trade.
