Captain America's New Adventure: A Surprising Start
Sunday, February 16, 2025
Brave New World’s success shows that there is a big demand for event movies. It also highlights the importance of having a diverse cast and appealing to a younger audience. The film’s performance is a big win for Marvel, which has faced some challenges recently. The studio is hoping that Captain America: Brave New World will continue to do well, but its long-term success will depend on how well it holds up in the coming weeks.
Presidents Day weekend has been a big one for Marvel in the past. It’s the same weekend that the first Deadpool opened, as well as Marvel’s Black Panther and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. This year, StudioCanal’s Paddington in Peru is the second highest-grossing film in North America. The film has earned an estimated $16 million domestically, including $13 million over the three-day weekend. Internationally, it has already made $104 million. The film cost $90 million to make and was developed and fully financed by StudioCanal. The film is also a partner on Universal and Working Title’s Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, the fourth and final installment in the series. Bridget Jones went straight to Universal’s streaming service Peacock in the U. S. and is getting a theatrical release overseas, where it opened to an impressive $35. 5 million.
