Carrie Underwood Saves the Day with A Cappella 'America The Beautiful'
Washington D.C., USATuesday, January 21, 2025
Underwood wasn't the only performer to take the stage during the inauguration weekend. Christopher Macchio, a tenor, sang the national anthem during the ceremony. Additionally, the Armed Forces Chorus and the United States Naval Academy Glee Club also performed. The weekend's festivities included a variety of artists, such as Lee Greenwood, Kid Rock, and the Village People, who participated in the Make America Great Again Victory Rally.
The night ahead was filled with more performances. The Village People, Jason Aldean, and an unnamed guest would perform at the Liberty Ball, one of the official inauguration balls. Rascal Flatts and Parker McCollum were scheduled for the Commander-In-Chief Ball, while Gavin DeGraw would entertain the crowd at the Starlight Ball.
This moment highlighted the importance of musical performances during significant events and the ability of artists to adapt to unexpected situations with grace and creativity.
